Our Purpose
At Lawton First Assembly, we are all about PEOPLE.
We are all about people because we believe God is all about people. When we say ‘people,’ we mean ALL people regardless of age, race, occupation, or social status. Our purpose is to see every person on a course to doing three basic things—Connect•Grow•Serve. We work hard at LFA to make sure everything we do exists to create an environment of connection, growth and service.
Along the way, you will discover that Connect•Grow•Serve are all interrelated. As we serve, we find personal growth takes place. As we grow, we discover places where we serve best. And, whether an event is designed primarily for growth or serving, connection is always a priority at literally every event we plan at LFA. You see, all three, Connect•Grow•Serve, are beautifully intertwined, one influencing the others. That is God’s purpose, and so it is also our purpose.
To connect people to God–the God who created them and loves them–in daily, functional worship. To connect people to who God created them to be…originals and not cookie cutter copies. To connect people to each other in positive, God-honoring community. To connect people to the work of God both here and throughout the world.
To help every person gain a right understanding of who God created them to be and what God truly expects of them. To set every person on a journey of spiritual health and freedom. To teach the Bible in creative, age-appropriate ways, equipping every person with life-giving truths from God’s Word.
To help every person discover an area of ministry that matches their God-given talents and abilities. To offer a vast array of opportunities to serve our church, our community, and our world. To support the challenge to serve with the best training available.
