Dreams and Nightmares

Dreams and Nightmares

Dreams and Nightmares

It’s Complicated #3

Pastor Abdiel Pagan

Genesis 39:2-6 (NIV)

The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.”

Romans 5:20 (NIV)

The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more...”

  1. Nightmares will often mask themselves as dreams.
  2. Nightmares will often cause us to make decisions we regret.
  3. Nightmares will make us desperate for the wrong things.
  4. Your nightmare does not define you.
  5. Your nightmare is not too big for Jesus to redeem.

Genesis 45:4-7 (NIV)

“Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.”
