What is Love Your Neighbor?

 

Love Your Neighbor is how LFA funds the people and projects working locally and globally to bring the life-changing gift of God's love and grace to their world.

 

Loving your neighbor is as simple as caring about the things God cares about and even more about the

people God cares about. When we give generously, we can share God's love in tangible ways by meeting the needs of people in our community and around the globe.

While Love Your Neighbor has enabled us to be at the forefront of helping the hurting where the needs are the greatest, we believe we can do more. In 2024, we have targeted three new areas of impact to expand and increase our ministry to even more people. Please take a look at our brochure below for more details on these exciting areas.

Equipping and expanding ministries, our God-given mission.

Area of Impact #1:  LOCAL

Last year, we tapped into a source of retail product overflow with home goods, furniture, personal products, etc. We are creating a strategy to increase the frequency of truck deliveries. This will equip us to meet the needs of local ministries and organizations, help reunite children with families (in partnership with DHS), and resource those who are fostering or adopting.

 

Many of our soldiers at Fort Sill are living below the poverty line. These products will help meet the needs of our service men and women. 

 

Our local ministry doesn’t end here. Drug addiction, incarceration, homelessness, and poverty are on the rise. Through your generosity, we will continue to sow into ministries that address these great needs and look for additional opportunities to minister in our local community.

Area of Impact #2:  GLOBAL

Your giving makes a difference worldwide. LFA supports over 80 missionaries and missions organizations monthly, such as Convoy of Hope, which feeds over 500,000 children in 33 countries annually and serves as a global disaster relief response team. Through various legs of the Assemblies of God World Missions, we provide Bibles and curricula to the nations of this world, some of which the Gospel can’t be openly shared. We also equip our missionaries with transportation and technology to spread the Gospel. We desire to be a sending body; more missionaries mean more lives forever changed by the Gospel.

 

As we embrace 2024, we have targeted more opportunities to make a difference globally as we focus on the nation of Rwanda. We will construct a new ministry facility to educate children academically and spiritually. In the village where our previous efforts built a church and school, we will expand the school’s capacity with more classrooms, a new computer lab, and a recreational area. We will also purchase a parcel of land to construct another church, giving this community greater opportunities to spread the Gospel.

Area of Impact #3:  FUTURE

When we look to the future, communicating the Gospel relies heavily on technology. Technology is ever-changing and must be updated systematically. These emerging technologies offer immersive experiences sharing biblical truths, making the Gospel more engaging and relatable to all generations, especially the next generation. Your giving to Love Your Neighbor will enable us to leave a biblical legacy for all generations by leveraging these technologies.

Lawton First Assembly continues to make a difference. Through Love Your Neighbor, we have raised close to $900,000 for Kingdom work in our community and across the globe.
